The Wonky Conker Tree On Bideford Quay- Original Gouache Painting

Down on Bideford Quay is the wonderful, “Wonky Conker Tree “ and its “Helping Hand”.
This majestic old tree was in danger of being cut down a long time ago, when the car park was being built.
Local protest saved it and an artist was asked to build something to support it.
The “Helping Hand” was designed and created to prop up the old tree and still does its job to this day.
It’s a wonderful sight and to stand in the shade of it on a sunny day looking across to the sparkles on the river under the old bridge is an absolute joy.
